Description

A six-hour seminar delivered in three segments to learn with peers exactly how to integrate an effective risk management program into an existing or brand new quality management system. 
 
Participants will work with the instructor to understand the ISO and AC Diagnostics requirements. They explore in detail two tools for evaluating risk: the severity/probability grid and the failure-modes-effects-analysis tool, and work with peers to compare those tools for advantages and disadvantages. Participants will clearly understand exactly how risk interrelates to a quality management system; and understand what Accreditation Canada Diagnostics teams will expect on assessment. To tie it all together, participants write a policy for risk management.

At the end of the course, participants will have received expert guidance and training on the following: 

•    Overview of risk management theory 
•    When to perform risk assessments 
•    Proactive applications 
•    Reactive applications 
•    New equipment 
•    How to perform risk assessments efficiently 
•    Process maps 
•    Cause-and-effect diagrams 
•    Severity/Probability grids 
•    Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) 
•    Failure reporting, analysis and corrective actions systems (FRACAS) 
•    The incorporation of risk management into existing quality management processes 

Clarification on what is needed to demonstrate conformance to ISO 15189 and the AC Diagnostics Accreditation Requirements

Delivery

The course is designed and delivered by an expert trainer from AC Diagnostics, Julie Coffey, who is an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality and Quality Auditor with over 20 years of experience in accreditation and quality management. Delivery techniques will utilize interesting and relevant examples, combined with engaging exercises that will draw upon those years of experience.

Optional Exam

A multiple-choice exam can be completed electronically following the course. Participants are required to indicate interest in the exam on registration. Certificates for individuals choosing this option will indicate successful completion of the exam. All other participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
