Diagnostic Imaging (DI) facilities currently enrolled in AC Diagnostics accreditation can now access all files related to this version through the secure client portal, QView™. Navigate to these files in QView™ by clicking General – Accreditation, Diagnostic Imaging Program, Accreditation Requirements. This folder contains the requirements, a change report comparing Version 4 to Version 5, and an updated list of references to support the requirements.
During Sonography Week, Accreditation Canada (AC) Diagnostics acknowledges the incredible contributions of sonographers and the invaluable role they play in health care. We take this opportunity from October 2–6 to recognize and thank the dedicated professionals who provide their expertise and aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions, using ultrasound imaging.

Accreditation Canada (AC) Diagnostics is seeking volunteers to sit on its Accreditation Advisory Panel effective January 1, 2024.
Membership on this Advisory Panel consists of a three-year term of office, renewable once. The Advisory Panel meets about 4 times per year for half-day meetings.
We are pleased to announce that Version 9 (June 2023) of the Accreditation Canada (AC) Diagnostics Medical Laboratory Requirements is now available. Laboratories currently enrolled for AC Diagnostics accreditation have access to all files related to this version through the secure client portal, QView™. The Qview™ folder with these files can be found under General – Accreditation, Laboratory Program, Accreditation Requirements. It contains the requirements, a change report comparing Version 8 to Version 9, and an updated list of references to support the requirements. Documents are available in English and French. In addition, an educational PowerPoint has been added under General – Accreditation, Laboratory Program, Educational Material. The French version of the education material will follow.

Accreditation Canada (AC) Diagnostics is pleased to announce that as of February 23, 2023, the microbiology laboratory in Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital (HKSH) has achieved ISO 15189 Plus™ accreditation. We are pleased that HKSH has selected the AC Diagnostics accreditation program, which has international recognition in quality and competence standards.

Accreditation Canada (AC) Diagnostics is pleased to announce the Genetics Diagnostics Laboratory at CHEO has successfully achieved ISO 15189 Plus™ accreditation. The CHEO Genetics Diagnostic Laboratory provides molecular and cytogenetic analysis for disorders affecting children and adults and is a partner in the Genome-wide Sequencing Ontario (GSO) program for rare disease diagnostics.
Susan is the Quality Coordinator of the Regional Genetics Program, whose lab background includes Biochemistry, Newborn Screening, and Biochemical Genetics at Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). In 2016, she completed the Laboratory Quality Management certificate program from the University of British Columbia, then went on to begin her current role in the Regional Genetics Program at CHEO. In 2018, Susan joined the Accreditation Canada (AC) Diagnostics Advisory Panel and followed with training to be an accreditation assessor.
Dr. Deborah Yamamura is a Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Physician at Hamilton Health Sciences and McMaster University. Dr. Yamamura has been an Accreditation Canada (AC) Diagnostics assessor since 2004, with experience assessing microbiology, molecular microbiology and safety. Dr. Yamamura has also assessed the quality management system of various facilities as team leader.
Ivan is a Clinical Biochemist and Laboratory Director at CHEO and Winchester District Memorial Hospital, and the Quality Director at Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) in Ottawa. He has been an accreditation assessor with Accreditation Canada (AC) Diagnostics for eight years and has assessed various laboratory disciplines and served as team lead several times. The opportunity has allowed Ivan to travel across Ontario to assess numerous facilities and organizations, working alongside volunteers and AC Diagnostics staff.
Accreditation Canada (AC) Diagnostics relies on physicians, physicists, technologists, managers and scientists to serve as assessors for the accreditation program. AC Diagnostics accreditation assessors volunteer their time and expertise to participate in numerous assessment visits each year.
