In 2024, Accreditation Canada Diagnostics (ACD) celebrated our assessors with appreciation dinners across five cities: St. John’s, Sudbury, London, Toronto, and Ottawa. These events brought together lab and diagnostic imaging experts and ACD staff to connect and share experiences within the ACD community.
Peer assessors play a vital role in supporting the foundation of our accreditation program. These trained, certified professionals—physicians, physicists, scientists, and technologists—provide their time and expertise while
leading quality efforts in their own organizations. Together, they help strengthen the safety culture in labs and diagnostic services across Canada and globally.
These gatherings extend beyond recognition. They foster relationship building, idea exchange, and working toward a shared goal: safer care. Collaborative efforts among assessors introduce fresh perspectives and real-world experience that elevate standards in diagnostic quality. Their work supports better outcomes for patients and contributes to a stronger, more resilient health care system. We value their leadership, insight, and commitment to making health care safer for everyone.
Based on positive feedback from 2024, ACD will be hosting three dinners in 2025 for assessors and Advisory Panel members. The first dinner was held in April, during LabCon in Montreal. We look forward to connecting at the remaining events in Toronto (August) and Ottawa (September) as we continue to build a strong, collaborative community. The contributions of peer assessors are truly invaluable, and we remain deeply grateful for their dedication to improving health quality.
