The Accreditation Canada Diagnostics ISO 22583 Community-based POCT™ accreditation program is based on a four-year accreditation cycle with an assessment activity every four years and a certificate of accreditation that is valid for four years.
Initial Path to Accreditation
Application for Accreditation - Self-Assessment - Initial accreditation assessment - Corrective Actions - Certificate Issue - Assessment visit.
New clients submit a self-assessment within a year of enrolment to determine readiness for assessment. The initial assessment visit can occur in as little as two to four months after completion of the self-assessment. It will take approximately five months after the initial assessment to correct any non-conformances identified and for AC Diagnostics to issue an accreditation certificate. Reassessment will occur in another four years. Additional unscheduled focused surveillance assessments may be required during the four-year accreditation cycle (relocation, poor performance, reopening, request from regulator, etc.).
