Accreditation Canada is assembling a team of active and experienced volunteers for the Integrated Community Health Services Centres (ICHSC) Diagnostics Decision Panel.
Joining the Accreditation Canada team as an ICHSC Decision Panel member presents a unique opportunity to enhance health care quality and patient care in Ontario. By leveraging your expertise and commitment to excellence, you will play an integral role in helping community surgical and diagnostic centres to meet and exceed quality standards.
The Opportunity
We are accepting applications for the ICHSC Diagnostics Decision Panel. The Decision Panel reviews accreditation decisions and makes recommendations related to ICHSC facilities.
Accreditation Canada considers the following criteria for membership:
- Membership will reflect the Canadian ICHSC community;
- Health care professionals of stature who have a broad knowledge of ICHSC operations, quality assurance practices, quality management systems and their chosen diagnostics discipline;
- French proficiency is an asset.
Responsibilities of the ICHSC Decision Panel:
- Reviewing and approving inspection follow-up corrective actions;
- Reviewing reactive inspection reports and determining appropriate course of action;
- Recommending the inspection decision and accreditation certificates.

- Bone Densitometry
- General Radiography
- Mammography
- Ultrasound
Expectations of Panel members are:
- Regularly attend panel meetings and related activities;
- Volunteer for, and willingly accept and complete assignments thoroughly and on time;
- Stay informed about panel matters, prepare well for meetings, review and comment on minutes and reports;
- Build a collegial working relationship with other panel members that contribute to consensus.
While the panel meets every two weeks for one–two hours, panelists participate on a rotation basis. An honorarium is provided.
In response to the Ontario government’s January 17, 2024, announcement, Accreditation Canada is preparing to become the new inspection body responsible for ensuring quality standards and oversight of more than 900 Integrated Community Health Services Centres (ICHSC).
